Nakomo™ Kingdom TD (working title) is a pixelart, platform, Tower Defence game for Steam. It is set in Edo-era Japan, based on the Nakomo JRPG and Comic IP.
The game is inspired by the award-winning gameplay of Kingdom: New Lands (and thanks to the maker of that game Thomas van den Berg for help and encouragement, and for supporting the indie community).
Exploring how things work brings the joy of discovery, so up front explanation is intentionally light. The economy is simple but the simulation has strategic depth. This makes Nakomo Kingdom TD is easy to play, but hard to master.
History
The game design for Nakomo Kingdom TD was written in November 2016, with Thomas reviewing and making some comments in December 2017. Production of art assets for a Steam Greenlight demo version started March 2017.
With the changes to Greenlight (no longer needing a demo to get approval, and the changing nature of early access) the game production has continued. The game art is now almost complete (as at February 2018), and software development is about two thirds done.
Production is temporarily on hold as the studio moved to a one-game-at-a-time model.
Features
Nakomo Kingdom TD includes the following features:

Ability to rally troops to either side of the map

New buildings and events
